Limiting Amplifiers
Limiting Amplifiers are widely used in instantaneous frequency and phase measurement receivers. The most important performance requirement of a limiting amplifier is to minimize output power variations, and provide a constant output over a wide input dynamic range.
Limiting Amplifiers are often confused with Limiters, or Limiter Amplifiers. Limiting Amplifiers strive to provide constant output power, while a Limiter refers to a diode circuit meant to protect components from high input power levels. Narda-MITEQ manufactures a full line of Diode Limiters. Also, most catalog amplifiers can be modified to internally include a diode limiter circuit at the device input, with minor effects on performance.
Since 1969, Narda-MITEQ, the pioneers in Amplifier development, have been customizing to our customers specific requirements. This can include new design efforts, modifications to existing designs for performance and mechanical needs, as well as additional testing and environmental screening.
